Dear All,
We are back to the question posed in the
beginning of the creation posts.
If God created universe, then Who created God
or in other words, How God would have existed prior to creation?
Before we aim to find answers to the above
and also learn convincingly about the creation of universe, let us keep few
characteristics/qualities of any created object in the universe.
- ALL OBJECTS ARE MADE OF 5 ELEMENTS
In the
created universe, any object, any living or non-living created being, is
necessarily made of 5 elements-Space, Air, Fire, Water & earth.
- FOR EVERY EFFECT CREATED, THERE IS A CAUSE
Every
created being is the effect of some cause. There can be no effect without a
cause.
- ANY EFFECT CREATED BY A CAUSE IN THIS UNIVERSE, IS BOUND TO PERISH AFTER SOME TIME
Anything
created in this universe, is bound to perish, one day or the other. That
includes the entire creation, which folds itself during pralaya.
From pin
to aeroplane, from plant to animal to man, anything that we can imagine or
visualize in this created universe will definitely have the above qualities/characteristics.
The Nasadiya Sukta, also known as the Hymn of
Creation, is the 129th hymn of the 10th Mandala of the Rigveda (10:129). It is
concerned with cosmology and the origin of the universe. Few lines in the
beginning of this hymn of creation are given below.
नासदासीन्नो सदासीत्तदानीं
नासीद्रजो नो व्योमा परो यत्
(Neither non-being, nor being, was, has yet,
nor was there space, neither heavens beyond it)
न मृत्युरासीदमृतं
न तर्हि न रात्र्या अह्न आसीत्प्रकेतः |
आनीदवातं स्वधया तदेकं
तस्माद्धान्यन्न परः किञ्चनास
(Neither was there death, nor immortality, nor was there any sign of then, of night and day. Totally windless, the one breathed, beyond that, there was no other. Indeed, nothing whatever was).
With the above verses describing the
nothinglessness in the beginning, we shall delve on few lines from Aitareya Upanishad that hints
at SOMETHING which existed prior to the creation.
Love.
