Sutra 5. Yatprapya na Kinchitvaanchati na sochati na Dweshti na ramate notsaahee bhavati.
Yat: which (love of God)

Kinchit: anything
Vaanchati: desires

Sochati: grieves

Dweshti: feels enmity

rejoices
Utsaahee: one who is active (in one’s own
interest)
Na
Bhavati: does not become, or is not.
Labhdwa: In the
previous Sutra (having gained) and Prapya (having attained) in the present one
are apparently similar in meaning, yet, there is a subtle distinction.
Attainment involves personal effort. Labha or gain on the contrary may come unexpectedly.
Now Rishi Narada
describes the negative aspect of divine love.
Na Kinchit
Vaanchati: A devotee rises above all earthly wants. His heart is full of
supreme Peace and perfect satisfaction. Therefore he does not desire anything
else. He is conscious of the unreality and illusory nature of worldly objects .
Hence he does not take any interest in them . His thirst for sensual pleasure
has been quenched forever by the attainment of God-realisation. His heart is
full now. Kingdom, wealth, power, etc., have no attraction for him.
Why does desire
manifest? On account of Avidya or ignorance or imperfection or lack of bliss.
When one gets darshan of God, all desires are burnt up. When the boy Dhruva had
Darshan of Lord Hari, the desire to obtain kingdom that prompted him to worship
the Lord disappeared. Devotion is a fire like Gyanagni (fire of wisdom) that
bums up all mundane desires .
Desires arise
from a sense of imperfection or limitation. The feeling of imperfection is
possible only when a man finds something outside himself, other than
himself. When the devotee attains God-realization he is not conscious of anything
other than God. Therefore, a devotee becomes absolutely desire less.
Dear All,
From where desires arise???
Step 1
A man, born divine, created divine by the divine lord, due to the primal ignorance which is termed as Avidya in vedanta, forgets that he is divine.
Step 2
If he has forgotten that he is divine, then what does he identify himself as????
The little body, the monkey mind, the misguiding intellect. This is what man thinks he is.
Step 3
If he had not forgotten that he is divine, then, his only desire would have been to quickly finish off the human birth and merge with the source.
Step 4
Since he has now identified himself with his physical existence, then obviously, he develops desires to glorify his limited physical existence.
So, having identified himself with his body, mind and intellect, now,
his body desires (all physical desires, desires to look good, desires to satisfy sex needs, desire to maintain his body etc. etc.)

his mind desires (his mind desires all those things which he thinks will make him / keep him as best among men in the material world- so, he desires money, he desires power, he desires fame, he desires property, he desires children, he desires name in the society .... and here, the list gets endless
his intellect desires- having acquired a good intellect - he desires to be acknowledged as most knowledgable, most intellect!!!!!
Step 5
So, now, with all his desires burning like a flame, he sets out to ACT, to fulfill his desires!!!!
Step 6
All his actions or Karma, aimed at fulfilling his desires, earn him karma as per his action!!!!
This chain is explained as Knot of heart or Hrdaya granthi in vedantha and the chain is explained as
AVIDYA-- KAMA--- KARMA
(Ignorance of one's divinity ----> leads to desires ----> leads to karma due to actions taken up to fulfill his desires
What is the solution to cut this chain, to come out of this chain of Avidya Kama Karma???
Simple - LOVE GOD!!
Turn all your stupid desires, all your attachment, to God!!!
Breath God, Drink God, Walk God, sleep God, live God, Love God!!!
Then, the chain of Avidya , Kama, Karma is reversed.
The Kama being now to attain God, all actions are undertaken with this only aim.
So, now the Karma or action is done only with the back drop of God realization.
With such Karma, desires are reduced and ultimately eliminated.
With desires eliminated, the ignorance of one's divinity also gets subdued, reduced and gets annihilated in one birth.
So, the chain is :
Karma ( to reach God) -------> Kama ( Desiring only God)------> Vidya (Wisdom that I AM GOD, AHAM BRAHMASMI) -------> Moksha (Liberation)!!!!!
