Anandamayi Ma

Dear All,

In one of the earlier posts, author had written - "Doctor never prescribes same medicine for all patients or even same medicine for same patient at all times".

Medicine is prescribed to cure the illness of different patients at one time or even of the same patient at different times.

Accordingly, when a disciple joins his Master's hermitage, the Master prescribes daily duties to different disciples in a different way. Someone is asked to take up serving in kitchen, cleaning the ashram etc. Someone is asked to make arrangements for the daily puja etc. Someone is asked to go through Bhagwan Gita and keep the commentary ready accordingly, for submitting to Master on a daily basis.

The kitchen duty is given for the one who is more Rajasic by nature and who has to sweat it out by undertaking service, to gradually move to Satvic nature.

Arranging puja items is prescribed for the one who is more emotional by nature and is more keen to take up devotional path.

To the one who is capable of putting his head and heart together, commentary on Gita, or the path of Jnana is prescribed.

Ultimately, all the disciple are brought to the same static level, to take up the higher teachings which the Master has to give them.

And.., for the ways in which the Lord attracts different beings in different forms, through different ways..., only the beings thus attracted can speak about this phenomenon.

Each one, when asked, will have a different story to share on how He/She came to Sai's fold. Besides this, each being chooses, especially in Hindu religion, a different Lord as  his chosen Lord or Ishta devata.

Depending upon the samskara brought along with us, as per our own nature, some of us choose Rama, some choose Krishna, some choose Hanuman, some choose Devi etc.

The three main paths- Karma, Upasana and Jnana (Action, Devotion and Wisdom) have been dealt in detail under the theme "Purpose of Human Birth" and it is also explained as to how Lord naturally makes each one choose one of these paths in the initial stage and march along in that path.

Uniqueness of Maa's expression is that, she speaks of something and leaves the subtler inner meaning of her expression to be contemplated and taken in by the reader.

Readers may go through the earlier quote of Maa, then the way it is explained by the author and then wonder how Maa has left the subtler actual meaning to be understood by sincere reader  by contemplating on her lines.

Similarly, as Maa ends today's quote with the line, "The path differs indeed for different pilgrims", the reader has to assume the role of a pilgrim, choose the path shown by God for him as per his samskara, take in the essence of treatise of his own religion on the path chosen by him, meditate and then finally arrive at the culmination of the  journey on the chosen path, in his mediation, and realize that , at the end of the journey, either on the chosen path or naturally gliding/progressing to more advance path, THE FINAL DESTINATION IS ONE AND ONLY ONE, IRRESPECTIVE OF HIS RELIGION, IRRESPECTIVE OF THE INITIAL PATH CHOSEN AND THE CULMINATION IS

"GOD REALIZATION"

Jesus

Dear All,

The above lines might have appeared in the context of one particular situation in Bible / Holy book of christians.

But as you all would have realized by now, any quote of any Master or any incarnation is explained in this post at a level which does not touch any religion and is often beyond all religions.

So, the exposition of most of the quotes would be valid for all beings, of all religions, if they are contemplated internally and intensely.

What has been given as "Name of the Lord" is explained as "Namasmarana" in another religion, but the essence remains the same.

Bhagawan Baba has taken Namasmarana as a Yoga at par with Karma, Jnana, Bhakti, Raja and Ashtanga yogas and has given the name for Namasmarana as "Chitta Shuddhi Yoga", which clears your heart, your mind and all the impressions stored in your mind for several births and renders you clean and pure, worthy enough to offer yourself to Lord.

Constant remembrance of Lord's name is something which is possible 24/7, under all circumstances, in all situations, in all environment, anywhere and everywhere!

It is explained as strong tower in the sense, constant remembrance of name of God protects you from all  the attacks of worldly desires, worldly attachments, worldly impressions, all hatred, all fear, all greed, all delusions.

And... YOU ARE  SAFE on reaching/taking recourse to this yoga of Namasmarana and thus remain safe from the attacks of all devils as described above.

Love.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Divyatman,

The above pour of pours is pregnant with the  4 mahavakyas from Upanishads.

1.  Prajnanam  Brahma - Consciousness  is  Brahman   in the  Aitreya  Upanishad  from  the  Rig  Veda.

2. Aham Brahmasmi - I am Brahman in the Brhadaranyaka Upanishad from the Yajur Veda.

3. Tat Tvam Asi - That thou art in the Chandyogya Upanishad from the Sama Veda; and

4.  Ayamatma  Brahma -  this  Self  is  Brahman in  the Mandukya Upanishad from Atharvana Veda.

All the Mahavakyas are inter-connected which can be explained thus:

The disciple approaches the Guru and wants to be taught about the nature of the Ultimate Truth. The Guru first defines the Truth to the student as Prajnanam Brahma and this is a statement of definition.

The student reflects on this teaching and comes to understand that the Consciousness, the subject, which is experienced as the 'I' is what is being talked about, but he still has doubts whether the Ultimate Truth is different from him. So he goes back to the Guru who gives him the next Mahavakya, Tat Tvam Asi, which clearly declares that he, the seeker himself is the sought. This is a statement of instruction.

The student now sits in meditation and his doubts are removed and he is certain that he is not the mind, body, intellect and other conditions and he comes to directly experience the Self as Brahman. Aham Brahmasmi and this is a statement of experience.

Now that he has experienced his real nature, the Guru advises him to ever revel and abide in this knowledge. Ayam Atma Brahma is the nature of this abidance and the student never loses sight of this knowledge even when he transacts with the world and this is a statement of constant practice.

Now, after 4 months of extensive and elaborate writing on various themes, can the author request all sincere readers to connect the 4 mahavakyas explained above with the Swami's pour?

It will be wonderful if few readers can connect the 4 mahavakyas with Swami's quote and take the alignment deep within and revert to the author with the inner experience and post the same as comment. It will benefit all other readers as well.

A clue for introspection - In the above pour of Sai, both words of instruction (when He is addressing you) and words of introspection and experience (when He pours as "I") are there.
