Essence of Vedanta- Last Post 45

Dear All,

As mentioned in the previous post, He gives below the instant outpour on a Friday morning in 2012, seated in a morning meditation at a devotee's place in Muscat.

How the pour emerged from within, how He could contain the pour and still sit normally throughout the archana, How He could rush home and recapture the pour that emerged from within and pen down the same- ALL THESE ARE MIRACLE WHICH CANNOT BE EXPLAINED AT ALL!!!

In the last few posts he has given his own spiritual evolvement not for speaking about himself but as a case study for all present and future generation's spiritual seekers on how evolvement takes place step by step.

This would remain in internet even after the author passes away.

Love.

PS. As clearly mentioned by him in a previous post, he awaits suggestion from readers on what to take-up next.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

SONG OF "I"

I AM I

I REMAINED UNAWARE OF I

A COSMIC VIBRATION CAME,
WITH THE ENERGY BORROWED FROM I,
WITH THE I UNAWARE OF SOURCING ITS ENERGY FOR THE VIBRATION TO ARISE

WITH IT, I BECAME AWARE OF I

BUT, WHEN I AM WITHOUT THE CONCEPT OF EVEN THIS COSMIC VIBRATION AND I BECOMING AWARE OF I,

I SIMPLY REMAIN AS I

I, REMAINING AS I, WITHOUT PROJECTING MYSELF,
COULD NOT HAVE CREATED, SO,
I PROJECTED MY POWER AND
AS PRAKRITI WENT ON TO CREATE,

I REMAINED AS I

CREATION CAME INTO EXISTENCE,
MACROCOSM AND THEN MICROCOSM WHEREAS,
DEVOID OF ALL THESE CONCEPTS,

I REMAINED AS I

RISHIS ATTEMPTED TO DEFINE ME,
THEY CONCLUSIVELY ATTRIBUTED SATHYAM, JNANAM AND ANANTHAM TO ME AND DECLARED,

I AM THE CHANGELESS, BIRTHLESS, DEATHLESS SATHYAM AS I EXISTED PRIOR TO EVOLUTION AND WOULD CONTINUE TO BE I,
REGARDLESS OF THE CHAIN OF EVOLUTION AND INVOLUTION.

THEY SAID, I AM AWARENESS, JNANAM,
PURE AND BLEMISHLESS, WITH NO MIND,
EXISTING AS PURE AWARENESS.

THEY POINTED OUT THAT I AM ANANTHAM, AS,
FROM ME, THROUGH ME AND IN ME,
THE CREATION AROSE AND NOTHING CAN POSSIBLY EXIST BEYOND A SPACE WHERE I DO NOT EXIST.

PERHAPS THEY ARE TRUE IN THEIR FINDING.

HOWEVER, DEVOID OF ALL THESE CONCEPTS,

I REMAIN AS I

THEY PROVED THAT I AM AWARENESS THAT EXISTS BEYOND TIME AND SPACE AND BEYOND LIMITATIONS.

THEY WROTE IN SRUTHIS THAT LIVING AND NON LIVING BEINGS, NURTURED WITHIN MY DOMAIN,
CANNOT BE ANYTHING ELSE BUT ME AND HENCE,

I AM CONTAINED IN

EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, EVERY TIME.

HOWEVER,
I REMAINED, (BEYOND THESE CONCEPTS) AS "I".

IN VARIOUS AGES AND VARIOUS TIME, SPACE,
TO TEACH HUMANITY,
I INCARNATED IN FLESH AND BLOOD IN VARIOUS FORMS.

HOWEVER, I REMAIN UNATTACHED TO ALL THOSE FORMS OF MINE AND
I REMAIN AS "I"

AS JIVA, I AM AWARE THAT I AM ATMAN,

AS ISWARA, I AM AWARE THAT I AM BRAHMAN,

AMIDST CREATION, I AM AWARE THAT I AM ALL PERVADING,

IN PRALAYA, I AM AWARE THAT EVERYTHING HAS RETURNED TO ME AND MERGED IN ME,
ONLY TO UNDERGO ANOTHER EVOLUTION THROUGH MY PROJECTED  POWER, PRAKRITI.

I AM GURU, I AM DISCIPLE, I AM PARENT, I AM CHILD,
I AM GOD AND I AM DEVOTEE,

I AM THE CREATOR AND I AM THE CREATION,
I AM MICRO AND MICROCOSM,

I AM BRAHMAN, I AM BRAHMAN, I AM BRAHMAN,

I HAVE ALL THESE WONDERFUL RELATION LESS RELATIONSHIPS IN AND WITH EXISTENCE

HOWEVER

 IN THE DEPTH OF SILENCE,

BEYOND ALL CONCEPTS,
I DO NOT WITNESS MY CREATION,

I AM NEITHER BRAHMAN, NOR ATMAN,
NOR CREATION, NOR CREATED,
NEITHER JIVA, NOR ISWARA,
NEITHER SATHYAM, NEITHER ANANTHAM, NOR JNANAM,
NEITHER A WITNESS OF COSMIC VIBRATION, NEITHER SAGUNA, NOR NIRGUNA,
NEITHER ADVAITA, NOR DVAITA

BEYOND ALL CONCEPTS, ALL YOGAS, ALL VEDAS,
ALL VEDANTHA, ALL DEFINITIONS AND ALL ATTRIBUTES,

I REMAIN AS I

IN SILENCE  I ROAR, "I AM I' AND MY ROAR IS UNHEARD ABOUT WHICH I AM UNAWARE, AS,

I REMAIN AS "I".

I AM I

Essence of Vedanta - Part 44

Sadhaka's State Expressed in Limited Words

Thus continuing with nidhidhyasana daily, in the morning hours and then during many part of the day, the sadhaka could instantly align and merge with the absolute TRUTH and exist as PURE EXISTENCE (Sathyam) instantly and naturally.

In this state He could:-
  • Not differentiate between good beings and bad beings
  • Not differentiate between Man and woman, found and old.
  • Not relate to any relations in the past
  • Not recount any specific thing that happened in his past. This is explained by the truth that the memory bank or the chitta is empty, all actions are undertaken / propelled by pure intellect and once action is performed, the impact of the action does not get stored in the mind, in chitta.
  • Not recall / think/ contemplate on any form of any God, including his Sadguru and God Sai with whose grace, he could reach to this state.
  • Not relate to any of the wordings/ expressions/ Bhava contained in any bhajan while singing any bhajan in the centre.  This is so because, the differentiation between God and himself was gone and there was nothing but God, the pure existence that existed.
  • The above state of non differentiation between God with a form and the world is explained with a lucid example- Only when a fan is switched on and till the fan starts working in its full speed, one can make out the differentiate between the 3 blades of a fan and see the 3 blades distinctly.
  • Once the fan starts running in full speed, one can never see the 3 blades any more. One can only feel and experience the coolness caused due to the running of the blade. Similarly, in sadhana, only upto the penultimate stage, one can experience difference between God and Himself, God and the universe.
  • Once Realization dawns on a being, then all differentiation is gone and he can neither think about himself as ego, nor think of a God with form as different from him, nor recognize the world and its beings as separate from one SOURCE, the PURE CONSCIOUSNESS.
  • This resulted in his slow withdrawal from bhajan and bhajan singing, from teaching bhajans, from conducting practice , from attending centre and central functions, from holding on mike, singing to God ..., as , there was no more God, no more him, no more creation. There was just PURE EXISTENCE!!!
  • At this state of existence one is all alone and one is all complete, exactly as explained in the creation theme posts through Vedic verses when it is said that " HE/ THAT WAS ALONE, WITHOUT ANY THING APART FROM IT".
  • Love or compassion no more could be directed to / expressed to one and not to any one else. The natural state of existence was Love and therefore, any one who walked to him, talked to him could experience that pure love. To them, this human being existed, with a body, dressed up, with senses, showering love to them but in fact, in essence, he could never related himself with his own body or his physical personality.
  • An incident is explained so that any spiritual aspirant, existing in any part of the world may read, relate such a state of existence to his own state in his spiritual evolvement. The sadhaka is seated in front of his superior/ boss in his head office. The boss shouts at him for some reason. Leave alone getting affected by the shouting, the sadhaka, at the same time, instantly , was showering total love to that boss, saying without words " Hey, this is not your real state of existence. You are love as much as God is love. Hence, be love. Let your anger not affect your real state". Now, a sincere reader should rise far above the form of the one who is writing this and visualize the state which is expressed here!!!.
  • At home front, all expectations from family was gone because, essentially, the one who was expecting all these years, all these decades , was gone. When the  sadhaka himself is no more able to relate to his physical state, then where are the family members and where are any expectations from them???? .
  • Peace had to prevail in family at last because, hitherto, 2 hearts, 2 ego were dashing against one another and there was sound. When one ego has died completely, when one had has stopped clashing, how can then be war?? How  there can be sound?? How there can be agitation?? For a war, 2 sides or atleast 2 human beings are required on either side. When one person is non existent, the other person can either realize that the other person has transcended  his ego or, the other person can think that he has won a walk through game as the other person has succumbed. In either of his thoughts, the one who has transcended ego has no concern!!!!. Think!!!!!
  • So, in short, nothing in the world, good, best, bad, worse, worst thing that was happening around, ins work place,at home, in society etc.  could have any impact on him who had aligned and merged with the supreme.
  • The Dhina hitherto, had merged with the Nadhi and ultimately with the endless ocean, the God supreme. Post merger, the part that had merged , could never be withdrawn from the ocean!!!! The doll that was made of salt, had merged with the ocean that is salty, never to be withdrawn from the ocean to exist again as the salt doll!!
  •  To the world who was close to him prior to his merger with supreme, he was no colorless, spice less, emotion less, taste less. nothing in him that existed before, could be witnessed by the world now, though apparently, he remained the same. So, the world left him as much as he had left the world long before!!!
He shall end this theme post tomorrow  with an outpour that emerged from the essence within, seated on a morning meditation on a Friday at a devotee's house!!!

Love.

Essence of Vedanta - Part 38

Dear All,

For all the questions posed from various theme posts on WHAT IS GOD REALISATION, the author leaves you with the Existence of God which he covered once in the creation of universe post, answering to the question- HOW GOD CREATED UNIVERSE and then again He covered in this current theme.

This was also explained in one of the Tuesday talks on a samarpan bhajan, 3 years before.

Author would leave those very few sincere readers with atleast 2 days to contemplate on the expressions that follow in this post.

Questions

What is the God existence to be realized by a Jiva as culmination of Sadhana?

Does God exist in universe after creating universe??

What is God consciousness or Brahman actually???

An answer, an expression, A secret

"The Isavasya Upanishad says that the whole Universe is pervaded by Isvara or God, who is both within and without it. He is the moving and the unmoving, He is far and near, He is within all these and without all these."

Now, let us devote time in reading and then absorbing the same in early morning hours, in total silence, with pure mind, on one portion of the above expression "WITHIN"!!

Author is recapitulating the following part from a post under the theme "Creation of Universe".

"Suppose there is a big boulder, a stone. You see the stone; it is very hard and heavy, and you can touch it as a solid object.

Bring a sufficiently powerful microscope and look at this stone. You will find that the stone is a heap of very minute, fly-like, insect-like entities called molecules. It is a heap of certain things, and not one solid object.

Bring another, more powerful microscope, more powerful than the earlier one. Even the molecules will not be seen there. There will be still finer elements looking like almost non-cognisable particles which are called atoms.

Bring a still more powerful microscope. You will find that even these little particles melt into a continuum of energy, or force, which impinges on the energy centres which are other atoms. It looks as if there is one sea of force everywhere, an indistinguishable continuum.

What has happened to the stone?

Can you say that this sea of force, these atoms, one day thought: “Let us become a stone”?

If the atoms have really become the stone, they will not be there for you to see through the microscope.

You will conclude that they have never become the stone. It is only your vision that presents the perception of a solid object.

These so-called ‘things’ – molecules, atoms, energy centres, etc. – never became the stone. They were never transformed into the stone. They did not create the stone. They exist and have always existed in the same condition as they were when you perceived them through a powerful perception.

The stone has not been created, though it is solidly perceivable. In the same way, the world has not been created, though it is visible to the eyes.

CONCLUSION FOR TODAY

Similar to the stone which was never created, which is actually only a continuum of energy if one reaches to its subtlest existence, we the Jivas , exist  with our body at gross level, just as the stone is also visible at a gross level, but exactly like the continuum of energy explained in the case of stone, we the jivas are also actually not the physical form that we are, but we are actually THE SPIRIT / THE SOURCE / THE PURE CONSCIOUSNESS !!!!

Hari Aum Tatsat

And, God realization is actually to realize that we are THAT PURE AWARENESS / SPIRIT which WE ALWAYS ARE, WHICH IS NEVER BORN AND HENCE, WHICH NEVER DIES!!!!

Essence of Vedanta - Part 37

Dear All,

We will now sum up with the recap of questions posed in a post in the current theme on WHAT IS THAT WHICH IS REALIZED at the end/ culmination of spiritual sadhana and also, we will reproduce the answer to the same given in a current theme post itself, though, if the author refers to all the posts from December 2016 onwards, the answer would be found in more than 50 posts.

The questions posed were as follows:-

Theme
Questions
Purpose of Human Birth
How and what is the divine experience that we attain??
How do we experience God without a name, form and without attributes??

Karma
How is the divine experience/ the state of existence with no karmas left as balance and we have transcended all actions/ all thoughts/ all karmas?

Surrender
What is our state of existence in that absolute self surrender??
How do we experience God/Divinity within and without, with no thoughts, when we have merged into the ocean of Love that God's essence is!!!

MBCA
In the flow shown, the final culmination is shown as “Purpose of life, God realization, is fulfilled”.
That is the final culmination of the all the efforts taken up in one's spiritual sadhana, with unshakable conviction (mumukshatva).
However, when it is said, God realization, what is it exactly all about?? Which God is realized?? Where??? And what is the experience, if there is any experience at all, upon realizing the God??
How any realized Master, upon God realization, can possibly explain THE GOD that has been realized by the Master???

Creation
“Upon retracing from the gross body and mind and senses as per sankhya flow and reaching up to the state of Purusha” or “Upon retracing from the drawings (our gross existence with body mind and intellect) and reaching up to the state of Purusha which is explained as unmanifest Iswara in the panchadasi learning”, What would be the actual experience of the PURUSHA or the UNMANIFEST ISWARA or the PURUSHOTTAMA explained in Bhagwad Gita???
How and what is this God realization???
What is that God who is realized as Purusha/ Purushottama/ Unmanifest Iswara??
Can that God, who is otherwise inexplicable, be explained somehow???

Three Bodies
Is there anything, any existence which activates the three bodies, which sustains the three bodies but still, it is beyond the description off the three bodies????

Three States of Consciousness
In all the three states, on introspecting, we can observe one common thing.
In the waking state, there is one factor which is fetching us all the experience through our senses and intellect but that one factor is above our senses and intellect. This can be said so because, that factor is only using the senses and intellect to fetch your experience. A king who uses the service of his ministers has to be obviously above the state of his ministers. Thus, the single factor which is using the ministers of its senses and intellect has to be above the senses / intellect!!
In the dream state, again, that same single factor exists, which retrieves our impressions and bananas and then through our intellect, is fetching us the experience of what happened in the dream. Again, here also, the same explanation applies. The king, that single factor, using the vasanas / impressions and then the intellect, has to be above all of them!!!
In the deep sleep, when neither senses are working, nor our impressions or vasanas are working, still, That single factor is definitely present, otherwise, without body, mind and intellect working, who was present while the King had deep sleep, who fetches the experience that “I had a deep sleep without any experience” when the king wakes up on the next day??

Panchakoshas
“If the 5 koshas are like the 5 lampshades or the 5 layers, then what is that which is the real Light which shines forth in and through all the 5 lampshades or all the 5 koshas?
Is Ananda Maya kosha the ultimate or there is any other subtler source which actually makes one feel that “I AM IN BLISS”, like an imaginary concluding scene explained in an earlier post when King Janaka wakes up and experiences that he had a very deep sleep the previous night.
If his body, mind, intellect were not active  while he was sleeping, then what was THAT which was witnessing his deep sleep which prompts him on the next day and makes him say that he had deep sleep??

Introduction to Veda and vedanta (Posts on sadhana chatushthaya)
If Mumuksatva is all about intense craving for God realization, WHAT is understood by the fired up mumukshu sadhaka as GOD??
What is the God realization he is turning to??
What is the experience that the sadhaka aspires to attain upon the fructification of his mumukshatva??

We will perhaps end this theme tomorrow or day after tomorrow with the answer.

Essence of Vedanta - Part 36

SAMADHI THROUGH VEDANTA

There are four ways of destroying the ego or Ahankara, viz., two Advaitic methods (positive and negative), one Bhaktas' method of ungrudging, unreserved, absolute self-surrender (Atmanivedana) and the fourth, complete self-sacrifice of Nishkama Karma Yogis.

The negative Vedantic method is denial: "I am not the body, I am not the mind.
"Brahma satyam jaganmithya jivo brahmaiva na-aparah"

(Brahman alone is real. The world is unreal. Jiva is identical with Brahman.)

World includes the body. Meditate on this idea. Aham will vanish.

The positive method is that everything is Self only:

"Sarvam khalvidam brahma-All is Brahman"
(There is nothing but Brahman)

INTELLIGENT MODERATION IN SADHANA INDISPENSABLE FOR SAMADHI

Should you hold communion with Brahman, devoid of mental fancies and modifications, then the great bondage of the mind will cease, all doubts will vanish and all Karmas will perish:

"Bhidyate hridayagranthih chhidyante sarvasamsayah

kshiyante chasya karmani tasmin drishte paravare"

The stupid bee, knowing that flowers are blossoming in a certain tree and setting out with a terrific speed, passes it; and, in turning back, reaches it when the juice is finished.

Another stupid bee, setting out with a low speed reaches it when the juice is finished.

A clever bee, on the other hand, setting out with just the necessary speed, easily reaches the bunch of flowers, takes the juice to its heart's content and, turning it into honey, enjoys its taste.

Similarly, among the students of surgery who are practising surgical work on a lotus-leaf placed in a vessel of water, one stupid student, letting fall the knife with speed, either cuts the lotus-leaf into two or sinks it in the water.

Another stupid one, out of fear of cutting or sinking, dare not touch it with the knife.

The clever one, on the other hand, makes the stroke with the knife with uniform force, finishes his course and earns money by doing similar work when occasion arises.

To take another instance: on an announcement from the King, "He who brings a cobweb four fathoms long gets 4,000 coins," a stupid man draws the cobweb in haste and cuts it here and there.

Another stupid man, through fear of cutting it, dare not even touch it with his fingers.

The clever man, on the other hand, rolls it from one end on a stick with mild force, brings it and gets the reward.

To take a fourth instance, a stupid sailor, who goes full sail when the wind is strong, causes the boat to rush off her course.

Another stupid man, who lowers the sails when the wind is low, makes the boat remain in the same place.

The clever one, on the other hand, goes full sail when the wind is low and half sail when the wind is strong and reaches his destination in safety.

Again, when the teacher announces to his pupils, "He who fills the tube without spilling the oil gets the reward," a stupid student, greedy of gain, filling with haste, spills the oil.

Another stupid one, through fear of spilling oil, dare not attempt the task.

A clever one, on the other hand, fills the tube with calm and steady force and gets the reward.

Even so, when the sign appears, an aspirant makes strong efforts, saying: "I will quickly attain Samadhi"; but, his mind, through excessive strain, becomes distracted and he is not able to attain ecstasy or Samadhi.

Another person, seeing fault in excessive strenuousness, gives up the effort, saying: "What is the use of Samadhi to me now?" His mind, through over-slackness of energy, becomes idle and he too is not able to attain Samadhi

But, he who releases with an intelligent, calm, uniform force the mind that is slack ever so little from slackness and the distracted mind from distraction, drives it towards the goal or Lakshya (i.e., Brahman) and attains Nirvikalpa Samadhi (Advaita-Nishtha). Become like such a one.

(Posts on Samadhi are based on Swami Sivananda's exposition on SAMADHI).

Swami gives the same instructions in the following quote:-
Image result for SATHYA SAIBABA+START EARLY DRIVE SLOWLY REACH SAFELY

Start early- In the vedantic path, the conviction to take up the goal must start early in one's life so that one can take up sadhana when one is strong in all respects- physical, mental, emotional, spiritual.

Drive Slowly- Here, slow does not mean slow in its literal sense, Swami perhaps means that one has to be steady in his sadhana

Reach safely-  Conviction and steadiness in sadhana leads a sincere aspirant to reach the goal safely without any distraction, without any set back!!
