Dear Ones,

Swami says the same thing when He whispers "true happiness is within".

This was explained in one of the posts earlier also.

True Bliss, Ananda, experienced by the meditator, does not come from outside and hug him.

Man's essential nature is Ananda.

Like the sun is covered by the cloud, gold is covered by dust, man's essential nature is clouded by his ego and his associating himself with all worldly suffering.

Meditation is to draw oneself inward, disassociate with all objects, emotions and thoughts.

Once you have disassociated with your ego, the soul experiences  Bliss within, which has eternally been its essential nature. The Bliss is  like the sunshine when clouds pass away, like the gold when it is polished and the dust gathered on it is removed.

Does the sun get its heat or shine from some outside agency when clouds move away?? Does the goldsmith pour some thing from outside to the gold to make it shine like Gold?

Man is a reservoir of all the Ananda that the entire cosmos consist.

At the end of spiritual journey, shrutis say that the Ananda is discovered by man in the cave of his heart. It does not say that Ananda is derived from an external source. It says it is discovered within the heart.

Don't we know that any discovery can only be of something that exists already?

Ignorant of this essential truth, we search for the same Bliss from every possible source outside us.

As boy, we search for happiness in school friends/ games etc.

As youth, we search in relationships, in infatuation, in many other addictions.

As grown up, we search in job / career/ money/ etc.

As married beings, in spouse, in intimacy with our spouse.

As parents - in our children.

As grand parents - in our grand children.

In old age - in those few moments when our family can spare to talk to us, to let us know they are there for us.

Not to forget the search for happiness in movies / entertainments etc., which is there in entire life!!

The search for true bliss / happiness is thus endless.

Classic example is searching for chain everywhere in house, ignorant of the fact that it is right there on our neck.

Once all kleshas are transcended, vasanas are transcended, whatever is left in us, is BLISS!!

Dear Ones,

The above pour is often explained by Sri Chinmaya as :-

Non Apprehension of the reality and

Misapprehension of unreal to be real!

In yesterday's post, we dealt with exactly the same thing where taking wave (our physical identity) to be real was the misapprehension of unreal to be real 

and 

Inability to know and experience the reality of ocean (our God-hood) is the non apprehension of the reality referred above.

What does Mahavir give as the ultimate solution to this problem?

It apparently is a very difficult solution because, due to our Ignorance/Ego, we are not able to experience that we and God are one and as a cure for this disease, Mahavir Swami says, Go and realize your SELF, realize/experience that you are God, then only this ignorance will vanish. 

Arey Sahab, if I had known the secret of how to remove the ignorance, then I myself would achieve that. I am not able to remove my Ego and have been suffering for several births and incarnations simply tell me-Realize the SELF and then your Ego will vanish?

A visitor comes to Sri Ramana and says, I have to catch the evening train, I have couple of hours with me and in this short term, I need SELF-REALIZATION!

What has to be really understood from the above Gospel?

• One has to be convinced that the permanent remedy to the disease of Avidya, Asmita, Raga, Dvesha, Abhinivesha, Vasana diseases is realization of the only purpose of human birth-TO REALIZE SELF OR GOD.
• The above conviction is the starting point of spiritual sadhana and not the end. Mere understanding or mere knowledge of the above will not fetch us Realization.
• It requires years and years or may be few births of rigorous spiritual sadhana under the watchful eyes of a realized Master or the chosen God.
• The decline in ego and arising in sadhana are inversely proportional. The more you ascend in sadhana and experience in sadhana, the lesser and lesser will be your ego within you. 
• This can be easily visualized and understood by one simple thought. When we have seen Swami in Sai Kulwant hall, was there any ego in us? Was there any thought about ourselves as a person with so and so name, form, identity, etc. 
• This vision of Sai/God has to be understood/equated with spiritual experience in Sadhana and then we can easily know that the spiritual experience and ego can never co-exist. 
• At the end, in one birth, at one moment, as taught in all the previous themes and all the posts, the subtlest of the ego - the avidya must leave us and God must take us to Him like the salt doll merges with the ocean, never to come back as a salt doll again.
• It is then that there is neither non-apprehension nor misapprehension because, the person who can non-apprehend or misapprehend — does not exist any more. He has ascended from Man-Man to God-Man!! Story is over. The picture of that God-Man's life has ended with a happy note. Drama of life is over.

Dear Ones,

The above truth follows from the following simple truth(s):

1. We are created by our parents, our parents from their parents and so on.
2. The world is created out of a combination of 5 elements-Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
3. All the human body of our parents, their parents... and retracing to the first human being is made out of only these 5 elements. 
4. Who created these 5 elements? Obviously God, as God without form is the only existence prior to the 5 elements and hence, the cause of 5 elements can only be God. 
5. Did God have any special equipment, special material for creating 5 elements? No, because there can be no material, no equipment which is not made of 5 elements. Want to check? Please look around,  make a list of all material that you can see, including your own body and then surf google to find out how each of those materials are created. You will find that they are created by a combination of 1 or more of the 5 elements. 
6.  So, When God existed alone without form, He could not have had anything except Himself, without form, in essence.
7. So, while creating the 5 elements, it is evident that He could have only poured HIMSELF, HIS OWN ESSENCE for the creation of 5 elements.
8. And, hence, it is already proven above that there is no creation/no object that is not made out of 5 elements, from the above, it follows that there is but GOD in every created matter in this creation. 

So, at intellectual level, it is proven beyond doubt that we have no separate existence of God.

But How to experience this non-dual existence as God?

Only through intense contemplation in the path of wisdom or through reaching Atma Nivedanam in the path of Bhakti!

It is sufficient to know through logics that we and God are one.

It is most important and in fact, only important and relevant attainment is to experience God hood, by existence as God.

Go back to Surrender post where hanuman explains the 3 levels of his relationship with Sri Rama thus:-

• In physical form, I am Your dasa, O Rama (Dvaita)

• At intellectual level, I know that I am a part of the ocean that You are, O Rama (visishta advaita)

• As atman, TVAMEVA AHAM - I am You and You are me - (Advaita - where, as Mahavir pours in today's quote, our existence is not different from that of God)
