Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Dear All,

The quote apparently seems to be confusing as it has seemingly contradictory expressions like words and silence, action and deep rest.

The expression suits the existence of a realized Master.

Only a Guru / Master's words / teachings can bring in silence of mind of a sincere disciple.

Only the Master's actions can bring in deep rest in the mind and heart of His disciple.

Only the deep rest of mind, devoid of ego, can help one discover the inner fulfillment / inner Joy!

Love.

Sri Ramana Maharshi

Sri Ramana was asked a question on the above statement by a visitor.

Visitor: "How can you say this? How can the monks meditating in Tibet, living in seclusion from the society can serve the society?".

Ramana: It is only due to the pure hearts of those monks, it is only due to the aura of these Masters enveloping this universe that you and me are alive, hale and healthy, in spite of so much of violence and enmity within the country and amongst various countries. The entire negativity in this creation is wiped out with the aura of these Masters!

In Moksha Gita, Swami Sivananda says "Only a realized Master's seva/service can be termed exactly as service".

In the Surrender posts, there is a post on Loving God outside us, Loving God within us and then, once we have discovered the God within us, to effortlessly realize that the same God/ Divinity has to be there in every one else and with this Realization, service to anyone flows spontaneously, in the mode intuitively decided by the God within!

In that post, service aspect has been dealt in a more detailed manner as to How serving JUST happens when one gets realization.

Is teaching Brahma Vidya by a Jnani not the greatest service that can be given by any one to any other human in this creation?

Is acting as God's instrument and guiding the humanity on the purpose of human birth not one of the greatest seva that anyone can do?

Till one attains Self Realization, his serving the mankind is calculative, limited to a particular time, particular number of hours to a particular section of society and more often in anticipation of appreciation for the service done.

Only after one attains Self Realization, His every moment, His every breath, His every word, His every silence is service to the humanity with unconditional Love, though the entire world may not understand this aspect of His existence!!

Love.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Dear All,

Mine, not thine - This expression originates in mind from the 1st subtlest ego - AVIDYA.

Avidya has been dealt in detail under the MBCA theme.

Avidya is ignorance, Ignorance of the truth that we are Divine and then, the next Ego creeps in, which is the sense of MINE-ness, which is dealt in the above gospel.

From this mine-ness, all the attachments and hatred, all the fear, all the impressions originate. That is why Swami has told that this sense of mine-ness is the root of all evil.

Swami goes a step forward and says "This distinction of mine and thine is applied even to God".

All the fights / all the misunderstandings / all the calamities/ all the unrest caused between human beings of any 2 different religions flow from the difference between the 2 religions believing in 2 different God!!

Main preaching of each religion is to practice the instruction of its God. No religion ever preaches to condemn  God of other religions.

A devotee belonging to any religion, believing in any God, MUST transcend all limitations of his ego and merge in the Ocean of Love, which is the real existence of God!

Then and only then, there can be no my-ness, no mine, no thine but just "IS" ness, This "IS" ness is the eternal truth that only God IS!

Love.
