Essence of vedanta- Post 30 extended.

GOD -BEYOND LIMITATION OF SPACE, TIME AND SUBSTANCE

Dear All,

As the flow came within, the author wrote today's post on the above aspects of Brahman/God and the God realized sages.

He himself read the post, assuming the state of a normal human being, busy in life, with lot of distractions and agitations and felt that such a reader may not be able to grasp the subtlety expressed in today's post.

So, intuitively, the same is being explained in a more lucid manner in this post.

We read that Brahman and a Jivanmukhta  exist beyond the limitation of Space, Time and Substance.

In Sanskrit language, Brahman or the Purusha in the purusha sukta is explained as " Desa, Kala, Vastu Paricheda Rahita'

Desa- Space ( the world in which one is at present)
Kala- Time ( the time factor in which one is, at present)
Vastu- ( The object/ substance which one recognizes within and around him, art present)
Parichada Rahita -  Not distinguishable/ differentiated on account of the above 3 factors.

Now, let us see how these three applies to a normal human being.

In various stages in life
  • In childhood, In our youth, in our mid age, in our 50s, in our 60s and then in our retirement- we attach ourselves to, we identify ourselves with various things, various objects, various relationships, various attractions, various wishes, various ambitions, various desires
  • In all the above aspects, each one of them is with respect to that particular time, space and object.
  • To make it more clear, a man falls in love with a girl in his prime youth. That love or infatuation or stupidity, what ever we realize that to be in our later stage when we repent(!!!!), - Is it not with respect to :-
    • A particular Place ( Desa) where he meets and develops attraction
    • A particular time ( Kala)  during which he develops attraction.
    • An object- being that girl herself.
  • What happens to the same person when he moves to a different place ( desa), to the next phase in his life ( Kala) ??? Does he continue to crave and die for the same human being??? Never. It happens only in movies and never in reality.
Taking the above example, we can articulate and bring to our thoughts, innumerable indulgence in which we have got ourselves to, in various Time, Space and with different objects.

Now, in the above context, How God or a God realized soul, is described as PARICHEDA RAHITA or WITHOUT THE LIMITATION OF, WITHOUT ANY DIFFERENCE IN THEM , caused due to time, space and objects???

GOD/ BRAHMAN/ THAT SOURCE

  • From THAT source/ God, 5 elements have emerged and in them, both space and substance ( earth) are also there.
  • Time is the concept only in relevance to space.  For e.g., only if there is a difference in space 1 and space 2, say, alkhuwair and airport, one can say, that it takes 20 min ( Time) to travel between alkhuwair and airport.
  • When all these space, earth etc have emerged from HIM, obviously He has to be above all these and all these have to be within HIM.
  • How?? Since a child has emerged from its mother, the mother is greater than the child and heart of heart, the mother contains the child within her. Correct?? . Since a building has come up in Muscat, the building is contained within Muscat, correct??
  • Similarly, the entire creation has emerged from God and God obviously  contains everything within him ( read the interpretation of Krishna Mujhe darshan do Krishna in samarpan )
  • So, We can conclude that
GOD IS EVERYWHERE AND THERE IS NO SPACE WHERE HE EXISTS AND SPACE WHERE HE DOES NOT EXIST, TIME DURING WHUCH HE IS PRESENT, TIME DURING WHICH HE IS NOT PRESENT, OBJECT THAT IS CREATED BY HIM AND WITHIN HIM AND OBJECT NOT CREATED BY HIM AND NOT WITHIN HIM.

The author...ne... Sai through author, has tried to explain the subtlest truth in the easiest possible way. Please read and grasp and close your eyes for a moment and enjoy the bliss of SAI/ God of your choice, knowing now as to How that SAI/GOD were/ are ever without limitation of any time and space, existing everywhere, anywhere, at all times, in all substance!!!

Tomorrow, shall try to explain the same in the context of a God realized sage/ master. A sincere reader can advance his/ her thought and visualize this on his/ her own and then go through tomorrow's post!!!!

Essence of Vedanta - Part 30

Dear All,

Now, let us learn on GOD as Anantam and a realized Jiva also as Anantam.

GOD/ THAT AS ANANTAM

·   Every object in the manifested universe is an entity limited by it identity. Identity is a product of space and time.  When identified with its infinite possibilities it is infinite. So every object has a component of finite nature and a component of infinity in them. Brahman manifests though the infinite nature of all objects.

·    Swami sivnanda says, “Anantam or infinity is 3 fold –

    in space,
    in time and
    in substance.

If we take akasa, is it infinite in terms of space as space has no boundary. How ever, Akasa is not infinite in terms of time and existence.

Akasa is an effect and not a cause and no effect can be infinite in terms of time. Brahman is  cause and not an effect. Therefore, Brahman is unlimited/ infinite as for as time is concerned.

·  Brahman is infinite in substance because it is inseparable from anything and it exists in all. The idea of a cow   terminates the idea of a horse. The idea of clan cow is with reference to clan horse and hence, idea of cow is limits the  idea of horse. A thing, which causes the termination of idea of the other thing, forms the limit of the other thing. Since brahman is in all, idea of any one substance cannot terminate the idea of brahman and hence, brahman is infinite in substance as well. “

Jiva, upon realizing GOD/ THAT, existing as Anantam

Exactly as explained by Swami Sivananda, a Jiva, after        merging with God and existing as God/Brahman, exists in a state where, he/ his state, is not limited by any of the following three:-

       space,
       time and
       substance.
Only a Jiva, who has ever experienced this state atleast for few moments in his meditation, can know what is written in this para. How ever, a sincere spiritual aspirant can atleast extend his pure thoughts and try and visualize how his state will be, once he attains Self-realization.

In that visualization, he can think of the state where his existence, is infinite, i.e., beyond any limitation, after transcending his mind, after transcending all thoughts about this creation which is limited by space, time and material.
