Narada Bhakti Sutra - Post 10

Sutra 4. Yallabdhwa puman siddho Bhavati, Amrito  Bhavati, Tripto Bhavati.

(On attaining it (this supreme love) man becomes perfect, immortal and (fully) satisfied.)

Yat: which;
Labdhwa: having attained;
Puman: man;
Siddhah : perfect; Bhavati: becomes;
Amrita: Immortal; Bhavati: becomes;
Triptah: satisfied; Bhavati: becomes.

Puman: The word Puman is specially significant. It means any man. The practice of Bhakti and the attainment of Mukti are not restricted by any considerations of caste, creed, colour, sex, or country. Every human being who has faith, devotion and aspiration can cultivate Bhakti and attain God-realisation through Bhakti. Even Nandan, Dharma Vyadha, Raidas, Kabir attained God-realisation.

Siddho Bhavati : The devotee becomes perfect through God-realisation. His object is attained. All his desires are gratified by God-realisation. He never feels the want of anything. He enjoys supreme peace, eternal and perfect satisfaction and everlasting bliss and so he becomes a siddha.

For a devotee Siddhis or powers are worthless. He does not care for them. These are nothing when compared to Divine Love . He rejects even the position of Indra or Brahma, even Mukti or liberation. His mind is filled with divine ecstasy. He has realized the whole.

He has realized the essence and totality of all He has attained the source and fountain of all. And so he is perfect, immortal and thoroughly satisfied. He cannot be attracted towards external objects, which are incomplete, imperfect, defective and are only parts .

A Siddha is a perfect man. He has reached the goal. He has attained God-realization.

In common parlance the word Siddha denotes a man who is endowed with various superhuman powers or Siddhis. It is not in any such sense the word is used here. The sign of a perfect man or Siddha is not the possession of miraculous powers but the attainment of God-realization or unity With the Supreme Being.

Author's special note

(As long as one is a devotee, as mentioned above, he does not care for any Siddhi or Yogic powers when he does not even care for liberation/Mukhti.  The devotee is satisfied to be immersed in his love for God.

Once the devotee attains moksha / liberation as a fruit of his Parama Prema for Lord, even then, the Jiva devotee turned Jivan mukhta, never ever thinks/ cares about any Siddhi or Yogic powers, nor does he  demonstrates any such powers.

Only for the transformation of his fellow beings, only in the task given by God intuitively, with his mind rendered absolutely pure, a jivanmukhta spontaneously  uses his power to know the minds of his fellow beings, his disciple so that He prescribes instructions to take his disciple / fellow beings to a higher level in  their spiritual evolvement.

Any power exercised by a Realized being is only in the interest of  his disciple or for the Loka Kalyanam and the mukhta does not even recognize / recollect the power exercised by him in this regard!!!!)

Love.
